Meet the Founder

Thank you for being here.

My name is Jacob Kysar, and I am the founder of Zanarkand Coffee Roasters!

Making progress toward your adventures and ambitions requires time and energy. If you are continually rushed and distracted back toward complacency, then I have made something you should try. It might be just what you need to get back on track and reveal a better life.

We all want to feel like we are moving toward what makes our heart sing; those moments that fill us with gratitude. Zanarkand exists to remind us to slow down — just enough — so you may once again discover those moments.

I must admit, I have found myself in countless scenarios where I have been sped up by deadlines, responsibilities, and others taking orders on my life. And, those circumstances would often manifest as depression, anxiety and a lack of purpose. I think we all, or at least I would love to believe, find a purpose-driven life. Mine, in hindsight, began to manifest when I would begin my day with a well-crafted cup of coffee; you know the ones — they make you take a deep breath in and relax. I would sit at Bellingham Bay with my Dad while the fireplace cracked behind us. We would talk about life, and enjoy our coffee as the marine fog swept over the bay. Often, we would sit in silence. Stillness.

I believe we have an opportunity to connect with our internal dialog during those brief moments of stillness. And, if we hear it a little more clearly than what we’re used to, we might just decide to listen.
